2. Children

Children (up to the age of 18) should not transmit any personal data to us without the consent of their parents or guardian. We encourage all parents and guardians to instruct their children in the safe and responsible use of personal data on the Internet. In any case, we will not knowingly collect personal data from children or use it in any way or disclose it to third parties.

3. Collection and processing of personal data

a) When visiting our website

When you visit our website, we process data that your browser automatically transmits to us. This data includes your IP address, the time of the server request, browser type and browser version, operating system used, referrer URL, and host name of the accessing computer. We only process personal data about the use of our website to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service.

This data is collected and processed for internal statistical purposes. The basis for data processing is the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. Another basis for data processing is our legitimate interest in processing the data to ensure the stability and security of the website.

Cookies

We use cookies to provide our website technically, to make it user-friendly and—if you have consented—to analyze and optimize our web offering. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device and do not cause any damage.

We distinguish between the following types of cookies:

  • Technically necessary cookies:
These cookies are necessary for our website to function (e.g., session cookies, language settings, etc.). They are automatically deleted at the end of your session and can be set without consent.

Session cookies only store a so-called session ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to the same session. This means that you do not have to fill out forms multiple times, for example. When you close your browser, the session ends and the cookie is deleted.
  • Optional cookies (functional cookies, marketing cookies):
We only set these cookies if you have expressly consented to them via our cookie banner. You can revoke your consent at any time via the cookie settings (at the bottom of the screen, “Cookie settings”).

Functional cookies: Functional cookies – provided you have consented to them – enable the integration of external content on our pages, such as YouTube videos, Facebook posts, or the current stock price.

Marketing cookies: Provided you have given your consent, we use marketing cookies and tracking pixels (1×1 pixel graphics that are retrieved from an external server when the page is loaded). These technologies enable the personalization of content, the display of interest-based advertising, and so-called retargeting via external platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, DoubleClick, or Bing).

These cookies also support the analysis of which content users access on our website in order to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing measures. For more information, please refer to the sections “Embedded content” and “Internet advertising.”

The legal basis for the use of “session cookies” and necessary cookies is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legal basis for the use of functional and marketing cookies is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

If you wish to block cookies, you can also change your browser settings accordingly. Here you will find instructions on how to set cookies in the most important browsers:

Chrome

Safari

Safari (mobile version)

Firefox

Blackberry

Android

Opera

Blocking cookies means that no information about your device or surfing behavior is stored when you visit our website. Blocking cookies will affect the functionality of our website. This may mean that you will not be able to use all the functions and services we offer.

b) Sending an email

When you send us an email, the data you voluntarily provide (e.g., title, first name, last name, telephone number, company name) will only be used for correspondence with you. Otherwise, we would explicitly point this out to you and ask for your consent.

As communication by email does not use a secure data connection, please refrain from sending confidential information in this way. Contacts are stored in the inboxes of the respective email addresses. MBT Climate's email infrastructure is hosted in Germany.

Your personal data is processed on the basis of your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time. To do so, simply send an informal email to info@mbtclimate.com. The legality of the data processing operations carried out up to the point of revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

4. Evaluation of usage data and use of analysis tools

We would like to tailor the content of our website as precisely as possible to your interests and thus improve our offering for you. We use various web analysis services for the purpose of this needs-based design and ongoing optimization of our website.

Google Tag Manager

This website uses the “Google Tag Manager” service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter “Google”).

Google Tag Manager serves as a technical platform for centrally managing, controlling, and linking scripts and tracking services to conditions.

The service is used solely for the technical control of other tools and does not itself perform any user analyses. When the Tag Manager is loaded, your IP address is transmitted to Google for technical reasons. The Tag Manager does not process any other personal data.

Processing takes place exclusively if you have given us your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Google Tag Manager will not be used without this consent. You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect by deactivating the service in the “Cookie Consent Tool” provided.

We have a data processing agreement with the provider that ensures the protection of your data and prohibits unauthorized disclosure to third parties.

For transfers to the US, Google has joined the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which guarantees compliance with European data protection standards on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission.

Google Analytics 4

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”), to analyze the use of our website.

When you visit the website, Google Analytics 4 collects certain information – provided you have given your consent – including your IP address, which is automatically anonymized or truncated. Google does not store the IP address permanently. The anonymized data is transferred to Google servers; transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible.

Google processes the information on our behalf to evaluate the use of the website, compile reports, and provide other services related to web and internet usage. The truncated IP address is not merged with other Google data. The collected data is stored for 14 months and then deleted.

All processing described – in particular the setting of cookies – is only carried out with your express consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Google Analytics 4 will not be used without your consent. You can revoke your consent at any time via the “Cookie Consent Tool.”

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google that ensures the protection of your data and prevents unauthorized disclosure.

Demographic characteristics

Google Analytics 4 offers a “demographic characteristics” feature to generate statistics on the age, gender, and interests of visitors. This is done by evaluating advertising and third-party information. The data is not personal and is deleted after 14 months.

User IDs

The “User IDs” feature enables cross-device analysis if you use an account on this website and log in on multiple devices. This requires your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

Participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework also applies to data transfers to the USA.

5. Disclosure of personal data and data processing by third parties

We treat your personal data as confidential and only disclose it if you have consented to this, if we are legally obliged or entitled to do so, or if this is necessary to enforce our rights, in particular to enforce claims arising from the contractual relationship.

In addition, we disclose your personal data to third parties to the extent that this is necessary or appropriate in the context of using the website or for the possible provision of the services you have requested (including outside the website).

In doing so, we naturally comply with the legal regulations governing the disclosure of personal data to third parties. If we use processors to provide our services, we take appropriate legal precautions and technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with the relevant legal regulations.

If the level of data protection in a country where the data is processed does not comply with the applicable data protection regulations, we contractually ensure that the protection of your personal data complies with that of the EU/EEA at all times, for example by including the EU standard contractual clauses.

In the event of any data exchange within the group, we ensure that your data is protected by means of appropriate contracts and in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.

6. Third-party services or content on our website

We offer third-party services and/or content on our website. If you use such third-party services or if third-party content is displayed, communication data between you and the respective provider will be exchanged for technical reasons. We do not control the websites or the data protection practices of the third parties who manage these websites. Accordingly, this privacy policy does not apply to linked third-party sites or services.

The respective provider of the services or content may also collect additional data and process it for other purposes of their own. To the best of our knowledge, we have configured the services and content of providers who process data for their own purposes in such a way that either communication for purposes other than the display of the services or content on our website is blocked, or personal data is only collected if you have decided to use the respective service. However, as we have no control over data collected and processed by third parties, we are unable to provide binding information about the scope and purpose of such processing of your data by the respective third-party providers.

Website links

For your optimal information, our pages contain links to third-party websites. As these are websites of other providers, we have no influence whatsoever on their content, for which the respective provider is solely responsible. Accordingly, this privacy policy does not apply to the linked third-party websites.

7. Deletion of personal data

Unless we have specified specific retention periods in this privacy policy, the following general rules apply:

Your data will generally be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the intended purposes or if you revoke your consent or object to its use on the basis of legitimate interest. Beyond this point in time, storage will only take place if this is necessary in accordance with a legal provision to which we are subject (e.g., tax and commercial law provisions) or if data is required to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

8. Data security

We take technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against manipulation, loss, destruction, or access by unauthorized persons and to ensure the protection of your rights and compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.

The measures taken are intended to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your data and to guarantee the availability and resilience of our systems and services when processing your data on a permanent basis. They are also intended to ensure the rapid restoration of the availability of your data and access to it in the event of a physical or technical incident.

Our data processing and security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.

We also take our own internal data protection very seriously. Our employees and the service providers we commission are obliged to maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations. Furthermore, they are only granted access to personal data to the extent necessary.
